About Us
Field House Assessments (FHA) is a City & Guilds NPTC assessment centre, based in the south-east of England. The Centre has a large, widely experienced team of NPTC approved assessors, all regularly audited by external verifiers who also work within the industry. FHA offers the full range of NPTC’s vocational qualifications.
NPTC, part of the City & Guilds Group, is the UK’s largest recognised awarding body within the environmental and land-based sectors for vocational qualifications. Recognition and reward for skill was the driving force for the establishment of NPTC more than 50 years ago, and continues to be the core objective.
Certificates of Competence
These provide practical skills assessments independent of training. ‘Lifetime qualifications’ demonstrate that the successful candidate has experience, technical knowledge and skills that have been independently and reliably assessed. Candidates are assessed as “Competent” or “Not Yet Competent”.
Assessment requires a practical demonstration of the candidate’s competence, underpinning knowledge and understanding.The way in which performance is evaluated during assessment is described in each assessment schedule. These schedules can be downloaded from www.nptc.org.uk (select schedules).
NPTC’s Certificates of Competence are being incorporated into the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) which is a new way of recognising achievement through the award of credit for units and qualifications.
Delivery
FHA works closely with training providers including independent instructors, colleges and corporate trainers. We aim to ensure a seamless delivery from training and candidate registration through to achievement.
We strongly advise all candidates to attend a course of instruction before assessment to ensure that they are up-to-date and properly equipped with the knowledge, skills and resources for a successful outcome.
